OrangeBD is working on the digitalization of the Philippines

Orange Business Development Limited (OrangeBD), a Bangladeshi IT company, is working across the country to digitize the Philippines. The program will be officially inaugurated by the Philippine Minister of Local Government and the Philippines Head of UNDP on January 23.

The information was given by the company’s director and chief executive officer (CEO) Al-Ashraful Kabir Jewel at a meeting with journalists at the capital’s Dhanmondi Club on Tuesday. OrangeBD’s directors Md. Hafez Ahmed, Md. Shamim Hossain, and public relations officer Shahriar Shams were present, among others.

It was informed in the meeting that OrangeBD is working with technical assistance in various e-governance projects of the Philippine government. Already, 14 citizen and business services of 20 municipalities out of 123 municipalities in a state of the Philippines have been digitized. This will be implemented in all municipalities in phases. Under the said project, all citizen and business services will be under the scope of digital transformation in phases.

OrangeBD is also working on the development of the Program and Project Monitoring System for the National Economic and Development Authority, an agency under the Philippine presidency. This system will support the Philippine government in data-driven decision-making by monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on projects implemented by the Philippine government and donor agencies.

In this regard, Al-Ashraful Kabir Jewel, Director and CEO of Orange Business Development Limited, said, “The use of Bangladeshi software in implementing e-governance projects abroad will increase the country’s prestige many times over. At the same time, remittances are also playing a role.” He expressed gratitude to all concerned for the steps taken by the current government to open up markets for domestic companies abroad.

Incidentally, Orange Business Development Limited has been operating business activities in the country and abroad as an information technology company since 2005. In addition to digitizing various services of the Bangladesh government, Orange Business Development Limited has been providing technical support to the online versions of various leading media outlets in the country.
