Former US President Donald Trump has appointed Indian-origin Sriram Krishnan as a senior policy advisor in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

Trump said that through this appointment, America will be at the forefront of using artificial intelligence. Sriram thanked Trump for this decision. In the wake of increasing competition in the field of artificial intelligence from China, this is seen as an attempt by the US to assert its leadership. Sriram, who is from Chennai, completed his engineering education from Anna University.

He started his career at Microsoft in 2007 and has held key positions at tech giants like Facebook, Twitter, and Snap. Sriram said that rising from his native Chennai to the top in America was a major milestone in his life. Indian American groups are expressing their joy that through such responsibilities, they will showcase the talent of Indians to the world. The American government has expressed hope that through Sriram’s hard work and skills, further progress will be made in the field of artificial intelligence.
