Microsoft to Discontinue Support for Office Apps on Windows 10

Effective October 14, Microsoft will cease updates for Microsoft 365 applications on Windows 10, aligning with the end of support for the operating system itself.

To access the latest features and security updates, users will need to upgrade to Windows 11.

While existing applications will continue to operate, they may face performance and stability challenges over time due to the absence of security updates. Additionally, new features will no longer be available.

Microsoft aims to transition users away from Windows 10 by 2025. Despite this, Windows 10 remains highly favored for its functionality and user interface. Furthermore, many users are unable to upgrade to Windows 11 due to their devices not meeting the necessary system requirements.

Although Windows 10 support officially ends this year, Microsoft is offering an option for extended security updates. For a fee of $30, users can secure an additional year of support.
