New Android feature allows you to enable custom app screen time reminders to monitor your social media usage

Android has added a new feature that allows users to be notified about the time they spend on social media. Called “Screen Time Reminders”, the tool allows users to turn on notifications and monitor the time spent on specific apps. The new feature was discovered by 9to5Google Portal last week and is already available on some Android devices. The feature is part of “Digital Wellbeing”, a tool that combines features related to the user’s health.

Once enabled in settings, reminders will appear periodically in the form of bubbles at the top of the phone screen to inform you of the time spent using certain applications. Clicking on the bubble allows users to turn off reminders for that particular app. The feature is available on Google Pixel phones, OnePlus, and a few other Android models. However, users of Samsung devices will have to wait a little longer to get the feature on their devices as the manufacturer has not followed the Android standard to include the feature in the Digital Wellbeing tab.
