Bus accident 100 meters deep in Uttarakhand: Rescue operations underway

A bus accident took place in Uttarakhand’s Nainital district on Wednesday, 100 meters deep. The bus, which was travelling on a road near Bhimtal, lost control and fell into a 100-meter deep gorge.

Several people were injured in the accident. As soon as the information about the incident was received, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prahlad Meena sent rescue teams to the spot.

Rescue operations are currently underway. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local police department, fire brigade, and local residents are working together to provide assistance to the victims.

“Today, December 25, 2024, information was received from the Nainital district control room about a bus accident near Bhimtal. Immediately, SDRF teams from Nainital and Khairna reached the spot and started rescue operations,” said SSP Prahlad Meena.

Coordinated relief efforts are being carried out, including urgently removing those trapped in the bus and providing first aid to the injured.

Despite the critical situation, authorities are doing their best to rescue the victims and are working to de-escalate the situation.
