Team India: Team India’s mistakes.. Who is the batting coach?

The failure of Team India’s batting in the first innings of the Gabba Test was a cause for concern. The top-order players Jaiswal, Gill and Virat Kohli all reached the pavilion for short runs, which dashed the hopes of the fans. Although Team India’s bowling department performed well in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the batting department disappointed. This issue has left fans and cricket analysts seriously thinking.

Currently, Gautam Gambhir is the head coach of Team India. Ryan ten Deskte and Abhishek Nair are the assistant coaches, while Morne Morkel is looking after the bowling department. However, the lack of a dedicated coach for the batting department raises many questions. Many are commenting that if the players are making repeated mistakes, it is the responsibility of the coaching staff to find a solution to it.

Former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has pointed out the shortcomings of Team India’s batting and suggested that a batting coach is needed. “Why are the problems of some batsmen not being solved for so long?” his tweet is going viral. While some are supporting this point, others are saying that batting problems should be solved through the experiences of the players.

Team India needs clear strategies to address its batting woes in the next crucial matches. Primarily, it is now imperative to provide proper mentoring to the batters and bring about changes in training methods. If these issues are not resolved soon, the team’s global reputation will suffer.
